Min duration 2 h

Environment Indoor / Outdoor

Play a legendary Mage Knight conquering cities and dungeons across a randomly built map — manage a hand of action cards, recruit units, and level up your hero in this solo-friendly epic adventure game.

The Essentials

Rules

  • Each turn, play cards from your hand for their basic effect (movement, influence, attack, or block) or for a stronger effect requiring mana of the matching color.
  • Movement costs mana or card points depending on terrain; ending your turn on certain tiles (like a dungeon or city) triggers exploration or combat.
  • Combat resolves in phases: ranged/siege attacks, then block, then regular attacks; unblocked enemy attacks deal wounds that clog your hand until healed.
  • Day and night alter which colors of mana are available from the source die pool, so plan actions around the time of day.
  • Reputation and Fame track your standing; Fame determines your level, which unlocks new Command and Unit slots but also raises enemy difficulty.
  • The game can be played cooperatively, competitively, or solo against a scripted scenario, each with slightly different endgame scoring.

Tips

  • Learn the basic card effects first before worrying about advanced combos, since the base game already has significant depth.
  • Avoid taking wounds into combat unnecessarily; a full hand of wound cards can leave you with no useful options on your turn.
  • Recruit units early when you find ones that complement your deck's strengths, since strong units offset weak starting cards.
  • Plan routes around day/night mana restrictions, since some spells and abilities are far more efficient at certain times.
  • Don't rush into dungeons or tombs without a strong hand, since these sites often trigger dangerous fights with no easy retreat.
