Holi Color Throwing

Min number of participants 2
Age 3+ yrs.
Safety support by adult Recommended
Min duration 1 h
Cost Low
Environment Outdoor

The joyful heart of the Hindu Holi festival — friends and strangers pelt each other with vibrant colored powder and water, dancing and laughing as everyone ends up drenched in a rainbow.

The Essentials

  • Wear old clothes you do not mind ruining, natural powder colors rarely wash out completely
  • Protect your eyes with sunglasses and apply oil to skin and hair beforehand so colors rinse off easier
  • Use only certified natural or organic colored powders, cheap synthetic ones can irritate skin and lungs
  • Keep your mouth closed when powder is thrown nearby and avoid inhaling clouds of color
  • Bring a change of clothes and keep phones and valuables sealed in a waterproof bag
  • Drink plenty of water and pace yourself, the excitement and heat can dehydrate you quickly
