Stack oversized wooden blocks into a tower, then take turns removing them one by one without toppling it — a slow-burn tension game that provokes gasps, strategy, and laughter from all ages.

The Essentials

  • Set the tower on a firm, level surface like grass or a hard floor, since a wobbly base makes it fall before anyone even pulls a block.
  • Push blocks out gently from the sides rather than the center of a row, since edge blocks carry less structural weight and slide more easily.
  • Tap each block lightly first to feel which ones are loose before committing to a full pull, so you don't waste your turn on a stuck piece.
  • Use one hand to steady the tower while the other pulls, especially once the stack rises above shoulder height.
  • Stack removed blocks on top in the same orientation as the layer below, alternating direction every three blocks to keep the tower balanced.
  • Stand back and call your move calmly if the tower starts leaning, since sudden movements or shouting can startle players into knocking it over.
