Min duration 30 min.
Cost Medium
Environment Indoor / Outdoor

Simultaneously choose phases — explore, develop, settle, produce, consume — and reveal them together, building a galactic civilisation from tableau cards with a steep learning curve but incredibly deep strategy.

The Essentials

Rules

  • Each round every player secretly picks one of 7 role cards (Explore, Develop, Settle, Consume, Produce), then all chosen roles are revealed and everyone may act on each chosen role
  • Build a tableau of development and world cards drawn from a shared deck, paying costs in cards
  • Score victory points from card effects and end-game bonuses; the game ends when a player reaches 12 cards in their tableau or the deck runs out

Tips

  • Read each other's tableaus before choosing a role — piggybacking on someone else's chosen phase is free and often the strongest move
  • Focus on one strategy (military, trade, or production) rather than spreading resources thin
  • Keep a card or two in hand as a discard buffer, since running out leaves you unable to pay costs
