Drop coloured discs into a vertical grid and be the first to line up four of your own colour in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — before your opponent blocks you.

The Essentials

How to play

  1. Set up the vertical grid (7 columns, 6 rows) between two players, each using a different colored set of discs.
  2. On your turn, drop one disc into any column — it falls to the lowest empty space in that column.
  3. Players alternate turns, each trying to line up four of their own discs in a row.
  4. A winning line can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal in any direction.
  5. Watch your opponent's board too — block their developing lines of three while building your own.
  6. The game ends when a player connects four in a row (winning) or the grid fills up completely with no winner (a draw).
