Arranging seven flat geometric pieces — triangles, a square, and a parallelogram — to recreate a given silhouette shape, using all seven pieces with no gaps and no overlaps.

The Essentials

Steps

  1. Study the target silhouette's outline and spot any obvious corners that match a triangle's point.
  2. Place the two large triangles first — they cover the most area and often anchor the overall shape.
  3. Fit the square, parallelogram, and medium triangle into the remaining gaps, rotating and flipping pieces as needed.
  4. Finish with the two small triangles, which usually fill the fiddly corners last.

Tips

  • Trace a piece's outline lightly with a finger before placing it — this builds an intuitive feel for how the shapes combine.
  • If a shape seems impossible, try flipping the parallelogram over — it's the only piece with a mirror-image orientation.
