How to solve it
The beginner method solves the cube one layer at a time.
- White cross: pick white as your first color and form a plus-sign on that face, matching each white edge piece to its neighboring center color.
- White corners: tuck the white corner pieces into place to complete the first layer.
- Middle layer edges: use a short algorithm to slot the four middle-layer edge pieces between their matching center colors, without disturbing the finished first layer.
- Yellow cross: flip the cube so yellow faces up and form a yellow cross on top using a repeatable algorithm.
- Orient yellow corners: rotate the top layer's corner pieces so their yellow stickers all face up.
- Permute the last layer: swap the top layer's edges and corners into their final positions to fully solve the cube.
Expect your first solve to take a while — algorithms become fast and automatic with repetition.
