Each player marks off common roadside sights — a red barn, a cow, a gas station, an out-of-state plate — on a simple grid as they spot them, racing to complete a row or fill the whole card first.

The Essentials

Steps

  • Sketch or print a simple grid of squares, each one naming a common roadside sight (a cow, a red barn, a gas station, a water tower, an out-of-state license plate, a motorcycle, and so on).
  • Give each player their own card, ideally with the items shuffled into a different order so nobody copies.
  • As the trip goes on, mark off any square whose sight you actually spot from the car.
  • The first player to complete a full row, column, or diagonal calls "Bingo!" and wins that round — or play until someone fills the whole card.

Tips

  • Fill the grid with sights that are common enough to actually show up during the drive, not rare ones nobody will see.
  • Make several versions of the card in advance so repeat trips don't feel identical.
  • A shared "free space" in the middle keeps things moving even on a quiet stretch of road.
  • Works with nothing more than paper and a pencil — no need for anything fancy.
