Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever

Min number of participants 2
Age 8+ yrs.
Safety support by adult Not required
Min duration 10 min.
Cost None (Free)
Environment Indoor / Outdoor

A family-friendly guessing-about-each-other game where players take turns saying something they've never done, and anyone who actually has done it raises a finger or says so — play until someone's out.

The Essentials

Rules

  • Each player starts with a fixed number of "lives" — fingers, points, or tokens (typically 5 or 10).
  • Taking turns, a player says "Never have I ever..." and finishes with something they genuinely haven't done.
  • Anyone who HAS done that thing loses one life (put down a finger, hand over a token, or just say "I have").
  • The last player with lives remaining wins; or just keep going for laughs and stories with no formal winner.

Tips

  • Keep statements light and age-appropriate for a family car ride — favorite foods, embarrassing moments, silly fears.
  • A statement that gets everyone at once is more fun than one that stumps nobody — aim for the middle ground.
  • Follow up with "when/how did that happen?" to turn admissions into fun stories.
