Draw four squares in chalk on pavement, assign a rank to each, and bounce a ball between players — the player in square one sets crazy rules each round. A timeless schoolyard game requiring only chalk and a rubber ball.
Wrap yourself in pillows or soft padding and try to knock a sibling or friend off balance inside a taped circle — a silly, safe, physical showdown for a summer afternoon at home.
Roll heavy resin balls as close as possible to a small target ball called the pallino, using spin, force, or precision to displace opponents' balls while your team's cluster closest to the jack scores — bocce is Italy's great social game, equally at home on a manicured court or a gravel path in any park.
