Lead a tribe of prehistoric humans — send workers to hunt, gather resources, build huts, and discover farming and civilization advances in this accessible worker-placement game for all ages.

The Essentials

Rules

  • Each round, players take turns placing their workers on action spaces: the forest for wood, the river for clay, the mountain for stone, or the desert to hunt for food.
  • More workers on a space usually means more resources gathered, but civilization cards and huts also compete for spots.
  • Feed your entire tribe with food at the end of every round, or lose points for every worker you cannot feed.
  • Use gathered resources to build huts (which let you add new workers) or buy tools and civilization cards that boost your score.
  • The game ends after a set number of rounds, and points are tallied from buildings, civilization cards, tools, and leftover resources.

Tips

  • Balance food production early so you are never caught short at the end of a round.
  • Prioritize huts in the first few rounds to grow your workforce and gain an advantage later.
  • Watch what other players are collecting so you are not left fighting over the same scarce spaces.
  • Diversify your civilization cards rather than chasing just one type of bonus, since final scoring rewards variety.
