The Essentials

Rules

  • Split into teams of 4-6 people and pick a team name.
  • The quizmaster reads questions in rounds (e.g. general knowledge, music, sports, movies); teams write answers on a sheet without shouting out.
  • No phones or internet lookups allowed during play.
  • Sheets are swapped and marked between rounds, with a running score kept on a board.

Tips

  • Mix easy and hard questions so every team gets some right.
  • Keep rounds to 8-10 questions to hold everyone's attention.
  • Have a tiebreaker question ready in case two teams finish level.
  • Offer a small prize for the winning team to keep the energy up.
