Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

Min number of participants 2
Age 3+ yrs.
Safety support by adult Recommended
Min duration 10 min.
Cost None (Free)
Environment Indoor / Outdoor

The classic game where one player counts while everyone else hides, then tries to find them all — indoors, outdoors, or anywhere with enough nooks to disappear into.

The Essentials

  • Agree on clear boundaries before starting so no one wanders off into unsafe or off-limits areas
  • Set a time limit for hiding and seeking so the game does not drag on too long
  • Pick a home base everyone can find easily, that is where the seeker counts and hiders return once found
  • Avoid hiding in spots that could trap you, like locked closets or under heavy furniture
  • For younger kids, use a smaller play area so hide-and-seek stays fun instead of frustrating
  • Assign an adult to keep an eye on hiding spots outdoors, especially near roads or water
