Each player picks a mystery character and asks yes-or-no questions to narrow down who the other chose — flip down faces until only one remains and you can name the mystery person.

The Essentials

  • Ask yes-or-no questions that split the remaining faces roughly in half, since a question only a few characters satisfy narrows the field far less than one splitting the board evenly.
  • Ask about broad features first, like hair color or glasses, before narrowing to specific details, since general traits eliminate more candidates per question.
  • Track eliminated faces carefully by flipping them down immediately, since losing count forces you to recheck the whole board and slows your next question.
  • Avoid asking about your own character's traits by accident, since giving away information about your face helps your opponent guess faster.
  • Save a direct name guess for when only one or two faces remain, since guessing early on a hunch risks losing the game outright if you're wrong.
  • Listen carefully to your opponent's questions, since their choice of question reveals what traits they think are useful, which can hint at their character too.
