Racing to fill a bingo card of terminal sights — a dog in a carrier, a neck pillow, a missed-flight sprint — a silly scavenger-hunt game that keeps kids and adults alike entertained.

The Essentials

  • Prepare a grid of squares beforehand, each one listing a different sight you might spot at the airport, such as a specific airline logo, a particular type of aircraft, a pet in a carrier, or a person running to catch a flight.
  • Give each player their own card with the squares arranged in a different order, so no two players finish at exactly the same pace.
  • Keep your eyes open around the terminal, gates, and windows overlooking the tarmac, marking off a square whenever you spot the matching item for real.
  • Only mark a square when you have genuinely seen the item yourself, since guessing or marking things you have not actually spotted takes the fun out of the game.
  • The first player to mark off a complete row, column, or diagonal calls out that they have won, though you can also agree to keep playing until someone fills the whole card.
  • Adjust the difficulty of the squares based on how long your wait is and how busy the airport is, using easier, more common sights for a short wait and rarer ones for a longer layover.
